The Massachusetts Community and Banking Council is currently recruiting a new Executive Director who will charged with leading this growing nonprofit organization. This dynamic leader will lead efforts and collaborate with an engaged Board of Directors to carry out the MCBC mission of promoting community investment in underserved areas throughout the Commonwealth. While the organization is currently predominantly focused in greater Boston, there is an active growth plan in place to expand presence and impact. The Executive Director is expected to lead these efforts and drive the growth and visibility of the organization.

MCBC and Mel King Institute Host Implicit Bias Training

On Feburary 7th, MCBC and the Mel King Institute hosted a training on Implicit Bias for Homeownership Professionals at MAHA. Trainer Susan Naimark introduced participants to the concept of implicit bias: what it is, how it develops, and its impacts on individuals and organizations. Participants left with a better understanding of their own unconscious biases, and some practical, research based strategies to reduce them.

This is the twenty-fourth in the annual series of Changing Patterns reports prepared for the Massachusetts Community & Banking Council (MCBC). The report presents information on home-purchase mortgage lending in the city of Boston, in Greater Boston, in Massachusetts, in Boston neighborhoods, and in thirty-six large cities. The report was prepared for MCBC by Jim Campen, professor emeritus of economics at UMass Boston.
