3rd Annual Summit:

Financial Equity Summit 2024

Each year it keeps getting bigger and better. Our 3rd annual Financial Equity Summit was a big success. This year, we had a pre-Summit event, co-sponsored with The Racial Wealth Gap Partnership at The Boston Foundation, on September 17th featuring an in-depth look at the state of Washington’s Covenant Homeownership program. And a two-day Summit on October 1st and 2nd culminating with keynote remarks from Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and Deputy Comptroller Donna Murphy at Worcester’s Redemption Rock Brewery.

Summit Recap

Our two-day Summit, with Convening Sponsors Arbella Insurance Foundation, Eastern Bank, and First Citizens Bank, on October 1-2, 2024 celebrated the 30th anniversary of our first program, Basic Banking for Massachusetts, which is still going strong with fifty-eight institutions participating.

We hosted Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and OCC Deputy Comptroller Donna Murphy and others at our in-person session on the 2nd at Worcester’s Redemption Rock Brewery (a certified B Corp) featuring West African food from Jollof Masters.

Each year, our Financial Equity Summit brings together bankers, activists, government officials, and thought leaders locally and nationally to highlight what is working and to inspire us to work harder to close our racial wealth gaps and invest in underserved communities.
