May 28, 2019
Hello MCBC Mortgage Lending Committee members,
In case you missed the Mortgage Lending Committee Meeting on 4/9/19, details of the meeting are included below.
1) Meghan Venable-Thomas, Program Director, Cultural Resilience, National Initiatives at Enterprise Community Partners joined us to talk about the Undesign The Redline exhibit on display at the Boston Architectural College through 4/30/19.
Enterprise, MCBC and the Mel King Institute co-sponsored a lunch + learn for members to view the exhibit and discuss the contemporary context of the issues it raises. Thank you to those who attended, including our panelists, Beyazmin Jimenez of Madison Park Development Corporation and Gonzalo Puigbo of People’s United Bank.
Interested in accessing the HLOC redlining maps? A newly revamped interactive site from the The Digital Scholarship Lab at the University of Richmond develops innovative digital humanities projects that contribute to research and teaching at and beyond the University of Richmond.embeds them on a single map of the USA. Selecting a city reveals the old map images; zooming in shows a color overlay over a modern map with street names and building outlines.
3) MCBC is forming committee working groups. If you are interested in participating, please complete this brief (2-3 minute) survey to indicate your interest and availability. If you have questions about how to participate, please contact me at rstpierre@mcbc.info.
